Five Stripes Alumni Report April 2025
Looking around MLS this month to check up on all the former Atlanta United players
Another edition of the Five Stripes Alumni report takes us around MLS to see where your favorite former Five Stripes are contributing this season. When you see all this talent playing in another kit…it kind of makes you wonder what could have been if all this talent had stayed in the 404…
Josef Martinez with the San Jose Earthquakes
The King has scored 5 goals adding 1 assist in eight appearances with his new club the San Jose Earthquakes. Josef netted a hat trick over DC United on April 6 and the Venezuelan Viper still has plenty of goals in his game. The 31-year old striker is on a one-year, club option contract with the Quakes. In international duty, Josef recently played 47 minutes versus Peru in South American World Cup qualifying.
Darlington Nagbe with the Columbus Crew
Nagbe is the team captain for the Crew and has been the engine that runs the Columbus midfield this season. The 34-year old has started and played in eight matches this season and has the Crew sitting in 4th place just one point off the top spot with a 5-3-1 record (18 points).
Brandon Vazquez with Austin FC
Vazquez made a $9.6 M Designated Player move from Monterrey to Austin this offseason and has started and played all nine matches this season. Goals versus San Diego and the LA Galaxy have been critical in pushing Austin to 2nd place (16 points) in the Western Conference. The LA goal was the game-winner on April 19 for the 26-year old striker.
George Campbell with CF Montreal
The big, rugged center back has made seven appearances over 626 minutes for CF Montreal in 2025 collecting one assist. Montreal has really struggled to score goals and sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference table. Despite the poor results, Campbell has helped CF Montreal to two clean sheets and has kept things close in three other one-goal defeats (Atlanta, Charlotte, and Columbus).
Miles Robinson with FC Cincinnati
The 28-year old center back has returned from injury and is back in the FC Cincinnati line up making seven appearances for his 1st place (19 points) squad. Robinson has worn the captain’s armband in six of his appearances this year.
Jon Gallagher with Austin FC
Gallagher has converted to play wingback for Austin FC making nine starts in 2025. The 29-year old has one goal, a game-winning goal, versus San Diego this season. Gallagher joined Austin in 2020 for $205K and has played 147 times for Los Verdes scoring 13 goals and adding 13 assists. Austin FC are currently in 2nd place in the western conference.
Next month it will be a homegrown edition of the Alumni Report where we see all the Atlanta United kids all grown up playing soccer all around the world.
