Mint Hill FC is set to embark on an exciting new chapter as the club officially joins the North Carolina Soccer League (NCSL) for the Spring 2025 season. The club will play a 12 match season in the NCSL while simultaneously playing friendlies against local professional, semi-pro, and collegiate teams. This move aligns with the club’s commitment to competing at a high level while continuing to provide opportunities for player development and community engagement.
Why the NCSL?
The decision to join the NCSL was driven by the league’s competitive structure, its affiliation with the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), and the exciting incentives it offers to top-performing clubs. One of the key benefits is that the NCSL will cover the US Open Cup entry fee for the top two teams in the league. A three year veteran of the US Open Cup Qualifiers, winning a bid to the tournament presents a valuable opportunity for Mint Hill FC to compete on a national stage.
Additionally, as part of the USASA, the NCSL provides access to prestigious tournaments such as the Carolina’s Cup, further expanding competitive opportunities for Mint Hill FC. By joining this league, the club ensures a consistent schedule of meaningful matches while maintaining the flexibility to schedule high-level friendlies against top teams in the region.
A Look at the Competition
The NCSL is made of up 6 other teams across North Carolina. The Spring 2025 season will see Mint Hill FC battle against:
Say Word FC (Greensboro)
Tar Devils SC (Chapel Hill)
Medicine City FC (Durham)
Gastonia United (Gastonia)
Central Raleigh FC (Raleigh)
NC United FC (Greensboro)
These matchups will provide an excellent test for the squad as they aim to make an impact in their debut NCSL campaign.
Looking Ahead
By joining the NCSL, Mint Hill FC is reinforcing its commitment to providing a professional and competitive soccer experience while continuing to support player growth and community involvement. The club is eager to take on new challenges and make its mark in the league.
